I agree with you to some degree on all of your points. The Getrag V160 6sp transmission is the WORST that I've ever experienced. Every Supra TT I've driven, including mine (18k miles), has a driveline "clunk" in 1st and 2nd gear. It's nearly impossible to shift smoothly at low speeds and it's downright agricultural sounding if you rush your shifts. Toyota's southeast regional service manager also confirmed this inherent weakness in Getrag's design. What amazes me is the prevailing myth that the Getrag is somehow "indestructable." Amazing how these urban legends start. Drive a 6sp Supra. You'll see what I mean. Your point about the quality of the Toyota leather is also very accurate. I'm a fanatic about leather care, and even 97 Supra has fine cracking leather on the driver's bolster. The leather on my 91 Z was nearly perfect after 6 years. I'd suggest that anyone considering a Supra read your post. It's right on the money. Having said all that....I still love the power rush of the Supra. I can live with it's faults. Dean
